WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Jan. 16)- The Saint Vincent College wrestling team earned a 41-12 victory at Waynesburg in their Presidents Athletic Conference dual opener on Thursday night.

Sean Cain opened the night, by picking up a forfeit victory at 125 lbs., as did
Owen Caracciolo at 133 lbs. to put the Bearcats up 12-0 in the match.

After an injury forfeit at 141 lbs. for the Bearcats, Waynesburg had cut the lead in half to 12-6.
Anthony Orlandini followed by picking up an 18-3 technical fall victory at 1:29 or the Bearcats to increase their lead to 17-6.

Logan Bechtold fell in a tight 11-10 decision at 157 lbs. as the Yellow Jackets cut the lead to 17-9 after five weight classes.

Chase Brandebura got the Bearcats back on track, picking up a pin at 2:33 in the 165 lbs. weight class to put Saint Vincent up 23-9.
Nathan Barkley followed with a forfeit victory at 174 lbs. as SVC's lead was now 29-9 in the match.

After the Yellow Jackets secured a decision victory in overtime at 184 lbs., the Bearcats picked up a forfeit win for
Dakota McDermott at 197 lbs. to grow their lead to 35-12.
Christo Marion closed the evening out for Saint Vincent with a fall at 1:14 to secure the 41-12 PAC victory for the Bearcats.

McDermott closed the night in the exhibitions with a fall at 2:27 at heavyweight.

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, January 18 with a trip to Case Western Reserve for a dual matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
