LATROBE, Pa. (Jan. 30)- The Saint Vincent wrestling team fell to Washington and Jefferson by a score of 24-19 in the Carey Center on Thursday night.

The Bearcats opened the night with two wins coming in the 125 lbs. and 133 lbs. weight class.
Sean Cain picked up an 8-0 major decision to open the night for SVC, putting them up 4-0 in the match.

Kyle McCollum followed with an 8-5 decision against Joshua Smith to increase the Bearcats lead to 7-0 after the first two weight classes.

W&J followed by picking up victories at 141 lbs., 149 lbs., and 157 lbs. They won those three weight classes by major decision, decision, and technical fall as the Bearcats found themselves trailing 12-7 in the match.

Saint Vincent followed by winning the next three weight classes.
Chase Brandebura started off the string of wins for the Bearcats with a 10-3 decision at 165 lbs.
Nathan Barkley followed with a pin at 3:20 in the 174 lbs. weight class to increase the Bearcats to 16-12.

Ryan Weinzen followed at 184 lbs. with a 5-0 decision to increase the SVC lead to 19-12 with two weight classes to go.

W&J closed the match out with back-to-back pins at 197 lbs. and 285 lbs. to come back, handing the Bearcats a 24-19 loss.

Prior to the match, the Bearcats won three of the four exhibition matches.
Sam Snyder picked up a 20-4 tech. fall at 6:42 in the 125 lbs. weight class.
Owen Caracciolo followed with a pin at 1:38 in the 133 lbs. weight class.

Tyler Clark with a 17-0 tech. fall at 5:31.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, February 6 traveling to take on Thiel in their final PAC dual of the season. The dual is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Greenville.
