PITTSBURGH, Pa. (March 29)- The Saint Vincent women's track and field team recorded a solid showing at the two-day Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Samantha Straub broke the Saint Vincent school record in the 400-meter hurdles. Straub raced a school record time of 1:10.54 for the Bearcats, which is also a personal best time for her as well.
Saint Vincent had two more regional qualifiers in the event as well.
Grace Neubert qualified for regionals in the 800-meter race with a personal best time of 2:20.68 for the Bearcats, while
Miranda Cincotta raced a season best time of 4:44.48 to qualify in the 1500 as well. Neubert also raced a PR for the Bearcats in the 1500 with a time of 4:45.06 for SVC.
Lily Murphy (2:26.01) and
Cassy Lanza (2:27.82) also ran personal bests for Saint Vincent in the 800-meter race.
The Bearcats return to action on Saturday, April 5, traveling to Slippery Rock to compete in the Slippery Rock Dave Labor Invitational.
