Five men's volleyball players earn All-PAC honors

TRAFFORD, Pa. (Apr. 15)- Five Saint Vincent men's volleyball players earned All-Presidents Athletic Conference honors per the conference's All-Conference awards show earlier this evening.

Headlining the All-Conference team for the Bearcats was junior outside hitter Shawn McSwiggen who was named All-PAC First Team. Zebadiah Wyant earned Second Team All-PAC honors, while Jackson Genicola and Tyler Nelson were named All-PAC Honorable Mention. Additionally, Rocco Marino was named to the PAC's Sportsmanship Team.

McSwiggen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) led Saint Vincent with 332 kills (4 Kills/set) over the course of the year. He also recorded a team-best .236 attack percentage as well. The junior outside hitter was third on the team with 23 service aces, while he totaled double-digit kills in 17 different matches. He recorded a season-high 28 kills for Saint Vincent in a game early in the season against Elizabethtown.

Wyant (Martinsburg, Pa./Central) earns the second team honors after finishing second on the team with 251 kills (3.20 Kills/set) and 28 service aces during the year. The junior also totaled 149 digs (2.01 digs/set) for the Bearcats during the season as well.

Genicola (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) led the Bearcats with an impressive 724 assists to lead him to the honorable mention honors during his freshman campaign. The freshman led Saint Vincent with 30 service aces during the year as well. He recorded double-digit assists in every match played over the course of the season for the Bearcats. 

Nelson (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) finished the season with 127 kills for Saint Vincent in route to his honorable mention honors. He recorded a double-double for the Bearcats, totaling 12 kills, while scooping up 10 digs in their match against Thiel at home at the end of the regular season.

Marino (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) recorded 82 kills, recording a .211 attack percentage over the course of his sophomore campaign. He led Saint Vincent with 48 blocks, which included 15 solo blocks for the Bearcats.

Saint Vincent finished the season with an 11-13 overall record, going 5-7 in PAC play. They fell to Thiel in the PAC Semifinals last week.
