TRAFFORD, Pa. (Mar. 9)- Four Saint Vincent athletes were named Presidents Athletic Conference Player of the Week in their respective sports.
Freshman
Jack Ryan was named the PAC Newcomer of the Week in men's volleyball, while
Brady Johnson was named the PAC Player of the Week in men's tennis. Additionally,
Mason Krabbe was named the PAC Specialist of the Week in men's lacrosse and
Cassidy Rega was named the PAC Defensive Player of the Week in women's lacrosse.
Ryan averaged 11.0 assists, 2.33 digs and 1.33 blocks per set in the Bearcats' 1-0 week. The freshman setter totaled 33 assists, seven digs and four total blocks (one solo, three assisted) in Saint Vincent's 3-0 upset at Thiel on Friday.
Johnson went 3-1 for the Bearcats over the course of the week. He earned SVC's only win against Lebanon Valley with a 1-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-3) win at third singles. After he recorded his 50th career victory with a 6-1 win in doubles against Bridgewater, Johnson collected a straight-set victory (6-2, 6-1) at fourth singles.
Krabbe recorded two goals, 16 ground balls, and three caused turnovers for the Bearcats over the course of their 1-1 week. He also went 24-for-50 in faceoffs for the Bearcats. Krabbe scored two goals and scooped up nine ground balls, while going 16-for-26 in faceoffs in SVC's win at Mount Union. He followed that up with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers in the Bearcats' loss to Hood on Saturday.
Rega picked up the win in net for the Bearcats during their 6-5 win at Wilson on Saturday. Rega allowed just five goals while making 11 saves for the Bearcats in the win. Four of her stops came in the fourth quarter, including one with 14 seconds to play to preserve the one-goal margin.
