FROSTBURG, Md. (Oct. 11) - The Saint Vincent field hockey team suffered a 6-0 loss at Frostburg State as the hosts used three goals in each half to post the win.
Frostburg opened the scoring just over a minute to play with two scores coming within seconds of one another to take an early lead, 2-0. They added another tally with just-under 30 seconds to go in the first half to take a 3-0 lead in to the intermission. The Bobcats added three goals in the second half to post the final margin, 6-0.
For the game, FSU out-shot SVC, 38-2, behind 21 first-half shots. Sophomore
Kayla Howard recorded both shots for the Bearcats, one of which was on goal. The Bobcats also held a 25-3 advantage on penalty corners.
Junior goalkeeper
Bridget Harner recorded 24 saves on the evening, playing all 70 minutes in net.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 13, traveling to Wilson College for a 4 p.m. contest.
