LATROBE (Oct. 15) - The Bearcats hosted Houghton (N.Y.) on the SVC Turf and fell by a final score of 3-0.

The Highlanders tallied their first goal of the game 15:26 when Maesa Phongsamouth recorded her first goal on the evening. Just over three minutes later, Ashley Engle gave the guests a 2-0 advantage that would stay the margin until the 51st minute when Phongsamouth added her second score of the day.

For the game, Houghton out-shot Saint Vincent, 23-0, including 14 second-half shots. The Highlanders also took 20 penalty corners compared to zero by the Bearcats.

Junior goalkeeper Bridget Harner made 11 saves in the loss while playing all 70 minutes in goal.

With the loss, SVC drops to 1-10 on the season while Houghton improves to 9-3.

The Bearcats are idle for two weeks before returning to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they host Notre Dame (Md.) for Senior Day at 3 p.m to wrap-up the season.
