With its most dominant victory yet, the Saint Vincent College men's tennis team improved its record to 5-0 in conference by defeating the Thomas More Saints 9-0. The Bearcats lost only 6 games the entire match.
Due to an injury, the Saints had only five players; therefore, they started the match in 2-0 hole, forfeiting both third doubles and sixth singles.
In front of the largest crowd of the season,
Tony Costantino and
Chris Andrejcik did not cede a single game to their opponents at second doubles, winning 8-0.
Dave Cenkner and
Anthony Nemanic also won handily at first doubles by the score of 8-2.
Saint Vincent continued the rout in singles play. Cenkner, Nemanic, and Andrejcik all overwhelmed their opponents, each triumphing by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Tony Costantino dropped just one game at second singles while
Nathan Walch lost the first two games of his match at fourth singles before grabbing 12 of the next 13 to secure a 6-3, 6-0 win.
The Bearcats are off until next Monday when a match at Penn State-Altoona kicks off a busy week for the team. They also play Waynesburg on Tuesday and Washington & Jefferson on Friday.
