In doubles play, the Bearcats saw
Chris Andrejcik and
Vince Anto at the first pairing overpower their opponents for an 8-3 victory.
Dalton Yezovich and
Patrick McGee extended their doubles unbeaten streak to eight as they rolled on past the opposition with an 8-1 win.
Saint Vincent couldn't complete the doubles sweep, dropping an 8-5 decision to the Saints tandem in second doubles.
The Bearcats struck first in singles competition, as
Tyler Brinton and McGee captured the fourth and sixth singles spots, winning 6-2 and 6-1 and 6-1 and 6-0, respectively.
To that point, SVC had put together a 4-1 lead and now needed just one more point to seal the victory. However, the Saints would rally, winning the next four contests for the comeback victory.
Scott Reichard fell in third singles, by scores of 7-5 and 6-1. Saint Vincent dropped the second and fifth singles points to allow Thomas More to draw even.
The match came down to Andrejcik at first singles, who got down early in the first set before eventually coming back to take it to a tiebreaker. The tiebreaker went to the Saints, 8-6, before they claimed the second set 6-3 to seal the match victory.
The loss drops Saint Vincent to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the PAC. The Bearcats return to action on Monday, April 13, when they travel to Washington & Jefferson, for a PAC matchup with the Presidents. Start time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
