FULL RESULTS
The SVC track teams opened the 2019 indoor season with the Midwest Indoor Invitational, at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

The competition featured schools from all three NCAA divisions.

In the women's 800 meter dash, freshman
Sydney Green, in her first collegiate indoor meet, had a solid 18th place finish among a field of 62.  Her time of 2:28.49 was less than 1.5 seconds away from qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference indoor championships, and two seconds off the school mark.  Â
Laura Aston finished 39th, timed in 2:35.52.

Aston also competed in the mile, finishing 42nd out of 84 in a time of 5:41.32.

In the 3000 meters, two Bearcats finished in the top 50 in the field of 77. Â
Jessica Gibson (49th) was timed in 11:54.58, one spot ahead of teammate
Alissa Beam (12:01.07).

The men's 800 meters featured a field of 84, and
Floyd Nichols was the team's top finisher, taking 50th place with a time of 2:07.94.Â

In the mile run,
Frankie King finished a strong 14th in the field of 113, with a time of 4:27.13.Â
Tyler Laughery also finished in the top half of the field, timed in 4:42.83. Â

Will Greene finished 29th in the 3000 meter run, crossing the finish line in 9:06.33. Â
Eli Urban was 33rd in 9:11.39, while
Steve Patterson was 54th in 9:26.98.  A total of 105 runners took part in the event. Â

The 4x400 relay team of Nichols,
Jonas Wudkwych, King and Laughery was timed in 3:42.56, finishing 19th, but placing ahead of the two other Presidents' Athletic Conference schools in attendance. Â

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, February 2 in the Youngstown State University Mid-Major Invitational.
