MORGANTOWN, W.V. (May 2)- The Saint Vincent men's and women's track and field team's competed at the Presidents Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championships on Thursday and Friday.
Both the men's and women's team placed ninth at the championships.
In the 100-meter dash on the men's side, three Bearcats posted personal best times, while one recorded a season best.
Jalani Campbell placed 13th with a personal best time of 11.25 seconds, while
Ryan Healy recorded a PR time of 11.68 seconds, and
Matthew Esdelle also recorded a PR with a time of 11.82 seconds.
Evan Suraci recorded a season best time of 11.82 seconds for SVC.
On the women's side in the 100-meter dash,
Gabrielle Dove finished fifth with a PR time of 12.81 seconds in the prelims, before finishing third (12.73 seconds) in the finals, recording a new PR.
Amanda Kane posted a PR time of 13.46 seconds in the event as well.
Cadence Smith (17.85 seconds) and
Kiersten Auman (18.32 seconds) both recorded PR's in the 100-meter hurdles.
In the men's 200-meter dash,
Jalani Campbell posted a season best time of 23.41 seconds. On the women's side in the event, Dove finished eighth with a time of 27.37 seconds, while Kane recorded a PR time of 27.71 seconds.
In the 400-meter dash, Esdelle recorded a personal best time of 54.31 seconds.
Samantha Straub, along with Smith both recorded PR's in the 400-meter hurdles for the SVC women. Straub raced a time of 1.08.18 to finish fifth, while Smith posted a time of 1:11.72 for Saint Vincent.
Ryan Cawley (2:04.21)Â and
Roger Kwiat (2:21.34) followed with PR's in the 800-meter race.
Aiden Jackson was SVC's top finisher in the event with a time of 2:03.08.
In the women's 800,
Teresa Grimm raced a season best time of 2:35.82, while
Emma Hyder recorded a PR time of 3:02.13.Â
Jackson added a top-five finish for Saint Vincent in the 1500-meter race, racing a time of 4:07.74, while
Will Stickman recorded a personal best time of 4:09.39 in the event.
John Syms added a personal best time of 10:04.82 in the steeple for the Bearcats.
Ethan Wymer (4th/33:19.16),
Brady Sundin (6th/33:36.72), and
Jeffrey Raynor (9th/34:06.86) all placed in the top-ten in the 10K for Saint Vincent.
Connor Bauerline earned a top-ten finish (10th) with a mark of 46.50m in the javelin throw.
Grace Neubert raced to a fifth place finish with a PR time of 17:39.87 in the 5K for Saint Vincent as well.
Campbell added a PR in the long jump with a mark of 5.91m.
Jared Bailey finished ninth in the shot put with a personal best mark of 12.93m.Â
The Bearcats 4x100 relay team consisting of Kane, Straub, Dove, and
Caroline Kozera raced a season best time of 50.50 seconds in the race to finish fourth. The men's 4x100 relay team consisting of Campbell, Esdelle, Stickman, and
Tim Patterson also raced a season best time of 3:33.53 for SVC.Â
The Saint Vincent women's 4x400 relay team finished ninth with a season best time of 4:23.77. Straub, Dove, Kozera, and
Isabella Snyder ran in the relay for SVC.
The Bearcats will next compete at the Baldwin Wallace Harrsison Dillard Twilight Invitational on Friday, May 9 in Berea, Ohio.
