NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Jan. 21)- The Saint Vincent men's indoor track and field team competed at the Muskingum Muskie Meet for their first indoor meet of the season, where the Bearcats finished in fifth out of eight teams. The Bearcats scored 53 points as a team in the meet.

It was a strong performance for a couple Bearcat veterans at the Muskie Meet. Joe Bujdos picked up the Bearcats first, first place finish on the afternoon. Bujdos recorded a win in the men's 800-meter race, running a time of 1:57.22, which was nine seconds better than the second-place finisher.

Tim Patterson recorded the Bearcats second win of the day. Patterson won the men's 3000-meter race, running a time of 8:52.40, which was five seconds better than the second-place finisher. The Bearcats had four other top ten finishers in the 3000-meter race as well.
Brady Sundin finished in fifth,
Jeremy Capella finished in seventh,
Joey Jafarace finished in eighth, and
Ethan Wymer finished in ninth for Saint Vincent.

Both Patterson and Bujdos were apart of the Bearcat quartet that finished third in the men's 4x400m. relay. Joining Patterson and Bujdos were sophomore's
Aiden Jackson and
Braden Rankin. The four runners ran a time of 3:40.71, just two seconds behind the second-place finishers from Heidelberg.

Jackson and Rankin also finished in third and fourth place respectively in the men's one mile run. Jackson ran a time of 4:44.47 in route to his third-place finish and Rankin ran a time of 4:52.70.
Ryan Cawley finished in sixth for the Bearcats in the race as well, running a time of 4:57.51.

Evan Ray competed in the both the men's high jump event and the men's long jump event. Ray finished sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.70m. In the long jump event, Ray finished in ninth in the 17-athlete field. Ray recorded a mark of 5.84m.

The Bearcat men return to action next weekend when they travel to Youngstown State University on Friday, Jan. 27, to compete in the two-day Youngstown State University Mid-Major Meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday.
