Indoor track and field opens season at Youngstown State

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (Dec. 5)- The Saint Vincent men's and women's indoor track and field team opened their season at the Youngstown State Icebreaker on Friday.

In the 60-meter dash, Madelyn Hopsicker recorded a personal best with a time of 8.31 seconds for the Bearcats. Also, on the women's side, Gabrielle Dove raced a time of 8.17 seconds for the Bearcats.

On the men's side in the 60-meter dash, P.J. McNeal raced a PR in a time of 7.18 seconds. Daniel Maddock tied a PR in his first collegiate race, racing a time of 7.18 seconds for the Bearcats as well.

In the 200-meter dash, Dove won her heat, racing a PR time of 26.99, wile Hopsicker also won her heat in a time of 27.70 seconds, which is also her PR.

Brecia Bentley also raced a time of 28.76 in the 200-meter, which is a personal best for her.

On the men's side, McNeal raced a time of 22.85 seconds for SVC in the event.

In the long jump, Jalani Campbell recorded a mark of 6.08m, which is a PR.

Saint Vincent will return to action on Saturday, January 17, competing in the Muskie Meet #1 in New Concord, Ohio. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
