CANTON, Ohio (Nov. 18)- The Saint Vincent women's swimming team concluded the three-day Malone Invitational finishing in fourth place out of 14 teams.
Rachel Hutchinson once again led the way for the Bearcats over the course of the weekend. Hutchinson picked up her first win of the weekend in the 500-yard freestyle event, swimming a time of 5:15.08 in the final to win the event.
Hutchinson also competed on the Bearcats 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished in third place with a time of 3:44.13. Also, a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team for Saint Vincent was
Abby Leskovansky,
Emma Martz, and
Sarah Alexander.
Leskovansky picked up a top-ten individual finish as well, swimming to sixth place in the 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 54.90 for the Bearcats.
Martz recorded a second place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:17..14) after finishing fourth in the prelims earlier in the day, while also recording a 12
th place finish in the 100-yard IM, finishing behind Leskovansky.
The Bearcat women finished fourth with a total of 1433 points over the three-day event, finishing behind Oberlin College who won the event with 2076 points, Transylvania who finished second with 1820 points, and Fairmont State who finished just ahead of Saint Vincent with 1513 points.
The Bearcats will return to action after Thanksgiving break on Saturday, December 2, traveling to Washington and Jefferson for a meet against the Presidents. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at W&J.
