The Saint Vincent men's bowling team finished 10th out of 17 schools at the Ohio Bowling Conference #2 event held in Columbus, Ohio, with the day featuring a new modern-day single game record by senior
Brandon Dunmire.

The format was 4 traditional games to start the day and ending with 8 Baker games. In the opening game of the tournament the Bearcats started slowly with an 800 game, led by Dunmire with a 194.Â

Game 2 was better for SVC as the team shot a 929 total led by junior
James Gatto, and freshman
Michael Mullaney, with a 207 and 206, respectively.Â

In Game 3, the Bearcats hit their stride shooting 1106. The high man was Dunmire who had the front 10 strikes before settling for a 289 game. Gatto also paced the way for SVC with a 226.

With the 289 game, senior
Brandon Dunmire broke the modern-day school record for the highest single game.Â
Â
After the hot game 3, the Bearcats slowed their roll with a 936 in the final Traditional game. Â Leading SVC were Gatto and Dunmire with games of 212 and 206.

After the 4 traditional games, the Bearcats were sitting in 11th place, with a block of 3,771 (-229) on the day, only 5 pins out from passing the University of Cincinnati for 10th.Â

Going into Bakers, SVC needed a spark to get back on track, but in the first  game the opposite took place, as the team shot a 140 game. However, in game 2, the Bearcats found their stride shooting 266, followed by a 225 in the third game. In the last game of the first block, the Bearcats struggled, posting a 160 game.Â

In game 5, SVC went into the new pair of lanes and shot a 192. Games 6 and 7 were kind to the Bearcats as back-to-back 200s (203-212) putting the Bearcats into the top-3 so far throughout the Baker game format.Â

In the finale of the tournament, the rolling Bearcats fired a 193 game.Â

After the 8 baker games SVC shot a 1,591 which put them 5th for the Baker portion of the tournament. Overall, the Bearcats place 10th with a total 5,362 pins.

Dunmire led the way for the Bearcats all day with an average of 211.4, Gatto also paced the way with 207.8, and Mullaney with a 191.6.Â

The Saint Vincent JV Team was led by senior
Ethan Dutka who paced the way with a 196.7, and a high game of 258, which started out with 9 straight strikes.

The Bearcats will be back in action on November 2nd, as they travel to Coshocton, Ohio for the Muskie Mash.Â
