ERIE, Pa. (Nov. 20)- The Saint Vincent wrestling team was defeated on the road at Penn State-Behrend by a score of 24-19 on Wednesday night.

Saint Vincent (0-2) led 19-18 before falling in the final weight class of the night to the Lions (3-1).

The Bearcats opened the night with two consecutive wins, coming at the 125-pound and 133-pound weight classes.
Ryan Klingensmith opened the night with a 19-0 technical fall victory at 3:55 over Matthew Tucci of Behrend to put Saint Vincent up 5-0.

Kyle McCollum increased that SVC lead to 9-0 with a 20-7, major decision victory at 133 pounds. McCollum defeated Zach Dellinger of the Lions.

After the Lions picked up a pin at 141 pounds,
Tyler Debnar helped to sustain the SVC lead with a win at 149 pounds. Debnar picked up an 11-4 decision over Jake Brown to increase the Bearcats lead back up to six at 12-6.

At 157 pounds,
Logan Bechtold fell by a 12-8 decision in a tough tightly contested match to Rudy Brown. Brown's victory cut the Saint Vincent lead to 12-9 heading into the 165 pound weight class.

Chase Brandebura got SVC back on track with a win at 165 pounds. Brandebura earned an 18-7 major decision victory for the Bearcats to increase the Saint Vincent lead back to 16-9.

The back-and-forth match continued as the Lions won at 174 pounds. Konnor Tubin earned an 8-5 decision against
Charlie Mesich to cut the Saint Vincent lead to 16-12.

Nathan Barkley followed with his first collegiate win, coming in the 184-pound weight class. Barkley defeated Ryan Gildersleeve by a 10-3 decision as the Bearcats led 19-12 with two weight classes to go.

The Lions went on to pick up back-to-back pins at 197 pounds and 285 pounds to earn the slight 24-19 win over Saint Vincent.

In the exhibition matches, the Bearcats picked up three wins in four matches.
Dylan Klim secured a 12-1 (MD) at 125 pounds and
Owen Caracciolo won by a 16-0 tech. fall at 133 pounds.
Anthony Orlandini won his exhibition match as well with a 26-9 tech. fall at 149 pounds for Saint Vincent.

The Bearcats return to action on Sunday, November 24 as they make the short track to Seton Hill to compete. Saint Vincent will first compete against Fairmont State at 2:30 p.m., before taking on Seton Hill at 4:30 p.m., with both matches taking place at Seton Hill.
