GROVE CITY, Pa. (Feb. 14) – The Saint Vincent College women's swimming teal closed day one of the 2023-24 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships in third place.
After two events, the Bearcats amassed 88 points, just four behind second-place Westminster College. Host Grove City closed day one in first with 116 points.
In the opening race of the event, Saint Vincent placed two teams in the top 10 of the 200 medley relay to earn a total of 44 points. The Bearcats' top relay foursome of
Abby Leskovansky,
Lily Holsey,
Emma Martz and
Sarah Alexander touched the wall in a season-best 1:53.44 to place fourth, while the quartet of
Cecilia Hickin,
Valerie Clabaugh,
Teresa Grimm and
Rachel Hutchinson finished 10th in a time of 1:56.32.
In the 800 freestyle relay, Hutchinson, Alexander, Grimm and
Brook McDermott earned third place in 8:23.09, while Hickin, Holsey,
Emma Morgan and
Julia Schultz teamed up to touch the wall in a final time of 8:58.99 to place 11th.
Day two of the 2023-24 PAC Championships will get underway with prelims at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, while the finals will begin at 6 p.m.
