INDIVIDUAL RESULTSÂ
Facing multiple games against NCAA Division I opponents, the Saint Vincent women's bowling team earned the tournament championship in the Hilbert Hammer Classic, held in Buffalo, New York.

SVC finished the weekend with a 9-1 record, and won the best-of-seven championship match over Niagara University with a 4-0 sweep.

DAY ONE
The first day featured five Traditional games, and SVC took an early lead in its first match against Daemen University.Â
Lilly Houle threw strikes on five of her first six shots, and finished with a 236 to lead the team to a 922-831 victory. The 922 total put SVC in second place in total pins, 11 behind NCAA Division I program Niagara University.

In game two, Saint Vincent faced conference rival William Smith, and both teams were sharp from the start.Â
Skyy Nicholls had a spare in the first frame then threw five consecutive strikes to help SVC build a lead. When Nicholls struck in the fifth frame, it started a streak of 10 consecutive strikes by the Bearcats, a new team record.Â
Kaylie Kurland added five strikes in a row later in the game, part of the team's 29 strikes in the match. The Bearcats finished with a school-record Traditional game total of 1063, led by Nicholls with a 245 game.  Kurland (223),
Mareana Pilyih (211),
Brooke Street (201) and
Lilly Houle (183) rounded out the lineup. The team total moved the Bearcats into first place in total pins for the day, where they remained the rest of the afternoon.Â

The team was unable to repeat its scores in game three, but still earned a victory, defeating Roberts Wesleyan University, 864-760. Kurland (202) and Pilyih (191) had the top scores.

Up next was a matchup against D'Youville, and the Bearcat improved to 4-0 on the day with a 941-690 victory.Â
Savannah Douglass finished her game with 9 strikes, good for a career-best 247 to lead the team. Kurland (203) and
Daphne Stuber (189) also scored well.

SVC ended the day with a rematch against Hilbert College, the team that ended the Bearcats' 24-game win streak a week ago. This time, it was all Saint Vincent, as the team pulled away to a 303-pin victory, 1014-711. Three Bearcats topped the 200 mark – Nicholls (239), Douglass (221) and Stuber (214), as the team finished the day with a perfect 5-0 record and a 192.2 average, 156 total pins ahead of second place Niagara.Â
Kurland finished second among all bowlers for the day and was named to the All Tournament Team.

DAY TWO
The Bearcats had a tough schedule on day two, with all five matches against NCAA-1 opponents. The first four matches were decided by total pins over five Baker team games. Up first was Mercyhurst University, and SVC jumped out to the early lead with a 178-150 win in game one. From there, SVC didn't look back, going on to an 840-806 win.

In round two, the Bearcats faced nationally ranked Niagara, and fell behind by 43 pins after losing the first game, 202-159. SVC made up a little ground in the next two games, winning 213-209 and 194-193, but still trailed by 38 pins going to game 4. SVC won that one by a 203-164 margin, but still trailed by one pin going to the deciding fifth game. The Bearcats responded with a 229-189 win to earn a 996-957 match victory.

Round three was a rematch against Mercyhurst, and the Bearcats again got off to a good start, winning 203-154 in game one en route to a 958-912 match win.

The final preliminary round was another rematch, this time against Niagara. After four games, the Bearcats were ahead by 32 pins, but Niagara came back strong in game five, winning 236-195 to earn the victory by 9 pins, 981-972.
That set up the championship match best-of-seven, and the Bearcats pulled out a narrow win in game one, 187-183. Game two was even closer, with SVC holding on for a 164-162 win. In the third game, SVC got off to a strong start, going on to a 183-162 win. In game four, it was all Saint Vincent, as the team clinched the tournament championship with a 246-178 win.

For the day, SVC was led by Douglass with an average of 206.7. Houle was second best at 199. Nicholls (190.8), Street (190) and Kurland (184.2) rounded out the top-five.

Saint Vincent is now 33-2 on the season and will return to action on December 18 in the Glenn Carlson Invitational.Â
