INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
The Saint Vincent women's bowling team remained undefeated on the season, sweeping all of their matches en route to the tournament win in the Br. Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament, hosted by the team at Lincoln Lanes in Latrobe.
Saint Vincent started the day with a matchup against Lewis University, jumping out to a 30-pin lead after three frames and holding that advantage the rest of the way, winning 847-801.
Brooke Street had the top score for SVC with a 180, while
Mareana Pilyih added a 179.
Lexi Pilyih and
Savannah Douglass each had a 174 game.
Up next was a game against Robert Morris University, and SVC opened a big lead early and never looked back, cruising to a 928-863 win.
Mareana Pilyih had a 217 games, while
Kaylie Kurland added a 207, and Street finished at 184.
The Hilbert Hawks faced the Bearcats in game three, and SVC once again got off to a quick start, taking a 30-pin lead after four frames before increasing the advantage to 77 by the finish, 885-808.
Skyy Nicholls (197) led the way while Kurland added a 176.
In game four, SVC led from start to finish against Pitt-Bradford, recording an 847-690 victory. Mareana Pilyin had the high game (186), while
Lilly Houle added a 181.
After the first four rounds, the Bearcats had the lead in total pins among the 11 teams, earning the #1 seed for the championship match against #2 Lewis. Once again, the Bearcats took the early lead against the Flyers and stayed in front all the way, posting an 862-797 win to secure the tournament crown for the second time in the last three years.
Mareana Pilyih (195), Douglass (182) and Nicholls (177) had the top scores. Pilyih and Kurland were named to the All-Tournament Team for their efforts.
Prior to the event, SVC honored its lone senior,
Cassandra Bromke, on Senior Day.
Saint Vincent is now 14-0 in NCAA competition this year, and will be back in action on Sunday (November 9) at Wildlife Lanes in Lower Burrell, PA, competing in the Unicorn Invitational.
