PITTSBURGH, Pa. (March 29)- The Saint Vincent men's track and field team had a solid showing at the two-day Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
To highlight the event, the Saint Vincent 4x100 relay team set the Saint Vincent school record with a time of 43.97 seconds.
Jalani Campbell,
P.J. McNeal,
Ryan Healy, and
Jorden Clay set the school record in the event for the Bearcats.
Clay also recorded a season best for the Bearcats in the 100-meter dash, racing a time of 11.87 seconds. McNeal finished in a time of 11.55 seconds in the same event, while Campbell raced a time of 11.71 seconds and
Evan Suraci with a time of 11.87 seconds as well.
McNeal added a 26th place finish in the field of 66 in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.77 seconds, while he finished 9th in the 400-meter dash (50.15) in the field of 38 runners.
Aiden Jackson and
Ryan Cawley both raced season best times for the Bearcats in the 800-meter race. Jackson raced a time of 2:00.55, while Cawley's time was 2:08.93 for Saint Vincent.
In the 1500, Jackson ran a season best time of 4:07.15 to finish 20th in the field of 62, while
Will Stickman and Cawley both ran PR's. Stickman raced a time of 4:15.58, while Cawley recorded a finish of 4:27.50 for the Bearcats.
Jeffrey Raynor added a season best time of 15:57.02 to finish 29th in the field of 45, while
Lucas Measel (1.74m) recorded a personal best in the high jump and
Connor Bauerline (42.91m) also recorded a personal best in the javelin throw.
The Bearcats return to action on Saturday, April 5, traveling to Slippery Rock to compete in the Slippery Rock Dave Labor Invitational.
