TRAFFORD, Pa. (May 14)- Five Saint Vincent softball players earned Presidents Athletic Conference All-Conference honors per the conferences release show tonight.
Headlining the All-PAC teams for the Bearcats was
Alyssa Henderson and
Josey Michalski, who both earned First Team All-PAC honors, while
Eva Farone and
Mackenzie Favero earned Honorable Mention honors. Additionally,
Olivia Bushore was named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
Henderson gets the nod in the designated player position, while Michalski picks up the honor at third base for SVC. Farone and Favero earned their awards at second base and shortstop respectively.
Henderson (Pleasantville, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) led the Bearcats with an impressive .406 average during her sophomore campaign. Over the course of the season, she totaled 39 hits, including six doubles, while she also drove in ten runs. She recorded two or more hits in 11 different games for SVC over the course of the season, which included a a four-hit game for Saint Vincent in their game against Thiel on April 9.
Michalski (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) had a big freshman campaign at the plate for Saint Vincent. She led Saint Vincent with 36 RBI's, while recording a .396 batting average and racking up two home runs as well. Michalski led Saint Vincent with 42 hits, which included 13 doubles and also scored 29 runs, while drawing 18 walks. The freshman recorded at least one hit in 29 of te 30 games that she participated in.
Farone (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero North Syracuse) was impressive for Saint Vincent during her freshman season. She recorded a .390 batting average, racking up 39 hits, which included four doubles, five triples, and one home run, while she also drove in 15 runs as well. Farone recorded two or more hits in nine different games during her freshman campaign for SVC.
Favero (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) picked up right where she left off during her freshman season in her sophomore campaign. The sophomore shortstop hit .323 over the course of the season, while stealing an impressive 12 bases for Saint Vincent. Favero also drove in six runs and walked 12 times as well.
Bushore (Claysburg, Pa./Claysburg-Kimmel) appeared in 18 games for the Bearcats in the circle, which also included 11 starts. She was 4-6 with a 4.68 ERA, while she also picked up one save. Bushore's best start of the season for Saint Vincent was in the Bearcats win at Penn State-Beaver. In the win, Bushore tossed a complete game shutout one hitter. In the game, she carried a no-hitter through 6.2 innings.
The Bearcats concluded the season with a 21-17 overall record, falling short of the PAC Playoffs by just one game.
