HIRAM, Ohio (Jan. 8)- The Saint Vincent wrestling team earned a 37-14 Presidents Athletic Conference win at Hiram on Thursday afternoon.
Saint Vincent cruised to the victory, earning victories in seven of the 10 weight classes. The Bearcats earned three wins by fall, two by technical fall, one by decision and one via forfeit.
After falling in the 125 lbs. weight class to open the match, the Bearcats earned a forfeit victory at 133 lbs.
Logan Connolly was credited with the victory at 133.
Brett Klim followed with a win by fall (2:24) at 141 lbs.
Anthony Orlandini kept the Bearcats win streak going with a 21-6 (4:08) technical fall victory in the 149 lbs. weight class.
Ryan Yocum then earned SVC's fourth victory in a row, earning a 6-0 decision at 157 lbs.
Hiram won two of the next three weight classes, earning victories at 165 lbs. and 184 lbs. However,
Chase Brandebura earned an 18-1 (4:28) technical fall victory at 174 lbs. for SVC.
The Bearcats won the final two weight classes of the afternoon as well.
Ryan Weinzen won by fall (1:57) at 197 and
Jonah McCoy concluded the Bearcats victory with another win by fall (2:00) at 285 lbs.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, January 15 hosting Thiel in their 2025-26 home opener. The PAC match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Robert S. Carey Center on Thursday night.
