INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
It was a record-setting day for the Saint Vincent College women's bowling team, as the Bearcats took first place and placed three individuals on the All-Tournament Team in the Roseland Open, held in Cleveland.
As a team, SVC, ranked #13 in the nation in the latest US Bowling Congress coaches' poll, averaged 194.7 for the day, winning the tournament by more than 350 pins over second places Lourdes University. Individually,
Mareana Pilyih was the Tournament MVP, setting a new Saint Vincent record with a four-game total of 898, an average of 224.5. She was joined on the All-Tournament Team by
Brooke Street (4th, 199.5 average) and
Skyy Nicholls (5th, 197.7).
The Bearcats also set a team record with 3988 pins in four traditional games, an average of 199.4Â The previous record was 3806.
SVC opened the day with a team total lf 985 in the first game, which put them 95 pins ahead of Lourdes early on. Pilyih led the way with a 244 game. In game two, SVC had one of its highest single-game totals of the season, shooting 1049. Nicholls had the top score with a 245, while Pilyih (221), Street (209) and
Kaylie Kurland (202) also eclipsed the 200 mark.
The Bearcats once again broke the 1000 barrier as a team in game three, with Pilyih (231), Street (222) and Kurland (213) posting the high scores. The team finished traditional play with a 948, led by Pilyih with a 202. Nicholls added a 198 and Street finished with a 192 game.
The final two round were Baker team games, and SVC finished with team scores of 970 and 884. In Baker play, Kurland posted a 240 game equivalent score to lead the way, while
Lilly Houle finished at 197.4.Â
Saint Vincent will be back in action the weekend of February 14-15 in the second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference round robin tournament of the season. SVC leads the AMCC with a 6-1 conference record. The team is 37-2 overall in NCAA competition. Â
