The Lady Bearcats were defeated 9-0 on the road by Houghton College.

The host Highlanders owned play from the start, out-shooting SVC 66-1 for the contest.  Houghton took a 7-0 lead into halftime, before closing the game out with two goals in the final four minutes of the second half.

Megan Vargo started in goal for SVC, making eight saves in the first half, before Bridget Harner came on in the second half to make 12 stops.

The nine Houghton goals were scored by four different players, as Rachel Stefanski scored three times and Ashley Engle, Jennifer Huyett, and Ruth Doolittle each had two goals.

The Lady Bearcats (1-7) will continue their weekend swing through New York on Sunday, as they will take on Wells College.
