Bearcats lose close contest to Grove City

The Saint Vincent men's tennis team returned to the Greensburg Racquet Club for their Presidents' Athletic Conference and regular season finale, dropping a tightly contested decision, 6-3 to Grove City.
 
In doubles play, Saint Vincent fell behind 2-1 after dropping the first and third points. The Bearcats' first point of the match came at second doubles as Jon Oskin and Zach Fox secured an 8-6 victory.
 
Jonathan Prichard opened up singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles. Oskin claimed a 6-0, 7-5 win at second singles to put the Bearcats ahead in the match, 3-2. Despite claiming the first two points in singles in straight sets Saint Vincent was unable to overcome the early deficit, dropping the rest of the singles points.
 
The loss drops the Bearcats' record to 9-5 (6-2 PAC) on the year. Saint Vincent will return to action Friday, April 28 as they travel to Erie for the PAC Tournament.
