GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 24) – Following their 52-35 win at Allegheny College, two Saint Vincent College football student-athletes were recognized with Presidents' Athletic Conference weekly accolades.
Senior quarterback
Brady Walker (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) was tabbed the PAC Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman safety
Ethan Facey (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) was named the conference's Rookie of the Week.
Walker completed 23 of 31 passes for 315 yards and five touchdowns in the Bearcats' win over the Gators. It was Walker's second career five-touchdown performance, and just the fourth time in the team's modern history (2007-present) in which a quarterback passed for five or more scores. The 315 yards marked a season high for Walker, while it was his fifth career 300-yard passing performance.
Facey recorded three tackles at Allegheny, while also causing a pair of Gator turnovers. His second quarter interception led to a touchdown that put the Bearcats up 21-13, while in the early stages of the fourth quarter, Facey forced and recovered a fumble on the Allegheny 6-yard line, leading to an SVC touchdown two plays later. Through Saint Vincent's first seven games this season, Facey has 39 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
This mark's Facey's first career PAC honor, while it's the third time in Walker's career in which he was named PAC Offensive Player of the Week, previously earning recognition on Oct. 25, 2021, and April 19, 2021.
The Bearcats, winners of two straight, will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 29, taking on PAC-leading Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh.
