TRAFFORD, Pa. (May 15) – Four members of the Saint Vincent College baseball team have earned accolades from the Presidents' Athletic Conference for the recently completed 2024 campaign.

Per a vote of the league's head coaches, senior outfielder/first baseman Billy Perroz (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) and sophomore outfielder/second baseman Dylan Schmude (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) were named second team All-PAC, while junior relief pitcher Alex Polito (Manheim, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) was an honorable mention selection.

Additionally, junior catcher Derek Hald (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) was voted to the league's Sportsmanship Team.

Perroz earns All-PAC accolades for the third consecutive season. The veteran started 34 games and batted .328, while leading his team in hits (39), doubles (12), triples (2), home runs (3), RBIs (25), and slugging percentage (.538). He produced 10 multi-hit games on the season and six games with multiple RBIs, while he hit safely in 16 of his team's 20 conference games. Perroz also drew a team-high 21 walks, while he was also stellar in the field, committing only two errors in 149 chances at first base and the corner outfield spots, good for a .987 fielding percentage. Over his three-year, 111-game career at Saint Vincent, Perroz batted .383 (147-for-384) with 14 home runs, 38 doubles, nine triples, 90 RBIs, 88 runs scored and a .638 slugging percentage.

Schmude lands his first All-PAC selection after turning in a solid, consistent sophomore season. In 31 games, the sophomore batted .356 (37-for-104), while leading the team in on-base percentage (.438), runs scored (23), and stolen bases (11).  He registered at least one hit in 25 games, highlighted by an 11-game hitting streak between March 27 and April 21. Splitting time between second base and center field, Schmude committed just two errors in 65 chances. In 18 games against PAC competition, Schmude batted .424 (28-for-66) with three doubles, nine RBIs, 17 runs scored and eight stolen bases in nine attempts. In his two-year, 62-game career, Schmude holds a .330 batting average (66-for-200) with seven doubles, 40 runs scored and 15 stolen bases.

Polito served as the Bearcats' top bullpen arm, and emerged as one of the top relievers in the PAC. The junior righty made 11 appearances out of the pen, posting a 2-0 record with two saves and a svelte 1.93 earned run average. Over 23.1 innings, he surrendered only five hits, good for an opponent batting average of just .154. He allowed only two extra-base hits, while striking out 18 against just seven walks. He threw at least 2.0 innings in eight of his 11 appearances, while he went unscored upon in nine games. He earned his first win of the season on March 8 in Florida against Anna Maria, where he threw 2.1 innings of scoreless relief, allowing only one hit. His top effort of the campaign came on April 9 against Chatham, when he threw four scoreless frames and allowed just one hit with three strikeouts. He would then go on to post a three-inning save in SVC's win over Grove City on April 25, and a two-inning save against Thiel on May 3.

Hald made 26 appearances and 23 starts at catcher, batting .338 (26-for-77) with a triple, three doubles, 15 runs scored and 12 RBIs. He tallied seven multi-hit games, highlighted by a pair of 4-for-4 efforts in wins over Westminster (April 13) and Geneva (April 23). Hald also put together a stellar season defensively, as he threw out 12 potential base thieves, the third-highest mark in the PAC. Hald has started 58 games behind the dish over his three-year career, and holds a .297 batting average (66-for-222) while throwing out 26 runners on the base paths.
