INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Competing at their home lanes in Greensburg, the SVC men's bowling team fought back from a slow start to finish fourth among 11 teams in the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic, held at Hillview Lanes.
The team struggled in the opening game of the day, with
Dominick Spence's 173 game leading the way. The team improved dramatically in game two, as
Brandon Dunmire (232) and
Ethan Dutka (210) led the way. The Bearcats put it all together in the third Traditional game of the afternoon, posting a team score of 1016 (203.2 per bowler).Â
Ryan Schuck led the way with a 235, followed by Dunmire (234). Two other SVC bowlers reached the 200 mark, as
James Gatto finished with a 216 and Spence had a 200 game.
In Baker play, the team averaged 191 over 12 team games, to secure the fourth place finish.
Shawnee State University took first place with a team average of 193.1 to win the title. Akron (188.2) was second, just 22 total pins ahead of Penn State-Berks (187.8). SVC was 51 total pins out of third place, with an average of 185.9.
Individually, Dunmire was named to the All-Tournament Team, finishing fourth among 86 bowlers, averaging 211.6. Â
The SVC JV team was led by freshman
Josh Cooley, who averaged a solid 180 on the day with games of 178-182-180, good for a 31st place finish among all bowlers, varsity and JV.
