The Bearcats ended their Spring Break trip to Florida with a tough 15-12 loss to the Rochester Institute of Technology.

RIT scored twice in the top of the third off Bearcat starter Jeff Bugajski, but the Bearcats came back with three runs in the third inning, with Grant Krally driving home two runs with a single, and Zach Bush driving home the go-ahead run.

The Tigers came right back, scoring twice in the fifth inning to make the score 4-3.  In the top of the seventh, RIT added four more runs to make it 8-3, but the Bearcats stormed back with four runs of their own in the bottom of the 7th, highlighted by a 2-run home run by Mike Hustava over the 380-foot sign in left center field.

In the 8th, RIT added five more runs, but again the Bearcats refused to go away, scoring five runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.  However, it was as close as SVC could get.

Bugajski worked four-plus innings and was saddled with the loss, while Walt Roman was the winning pitcher for RIT.  Freshman AJ Kavinsky led the offense by going 4-for-5 in his first collegiate start.

With the loss, SVC falls to 3-4 on the season.  The team will return to action on Saturday in Virginia against the Newport News Apprentice School.
