The Bearcat baseball team dropped a pair of games at Thiel College by scores of 11-0 and 5-4.

In the opener, SVC managed just three hits, and starter Jeremy Mains took the loss on the mound.

In game two, the Bearcats got off to an early lead when Brad Burkhardt doubled in the top of the first and later scored on an error.

Thiel's Bobby Hillier then hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third off SVC starter Jeff Bugajski, giving the hosts a 2-1 lead.

The Bearcats came back in the top of the fifth, when Nick Hogue and Joey Fearer both singled, then Burkhardt hit his second double of the game, making the score 3-2.

However, the Tomcats tied the game in the bottom half of the fifth thanks to a single, a sacrifice, a walk and a pair of passed balls.

The hosts then added a pair of runs in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead, and despite a solo home run by Fearer in the top of the 6th - his first collegiate HR - Saint Vincent was unable to make up the difference.

The Bearcats are now 1-11 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
