The Waynesburg Yellow Jackets defeated Saint Vincent by a score of 9-4, dropping the Bearcats below .500 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
Brad Burkardt had an RBI triple and a solo home run for Saint Vincent, but it wasn't enough, as the Jackets out-hit Saint Vincent 14-8 on the day.
Burkardt's solo shot to left field in the top of the first gave the visiting Bearcats the early lead, but the hosts came back with three runs in the third and three more in the fourth.
Down 8-1, SVC rallied in the top of the seventh, with
Nick Beamenderfer driving home a pair of runs with a single, and Burkardt driving home one with his triple.
Tedesco took the loss, while freshman
Steve Janik made his collegiate debut and worked two innings, giving up just one unearned run.
Saint Vincent is now 4-5 in the PAC, while Waynesburg improves to 5-4. Both teams are 14-7 overall.
The Bearcats now return home for a key three-game set with Thomas More, with a single game on Wednesday at 3PM and a doubleheader on Thursday, starting at 1PM.
