The Bearcats trailed 6-0 after seven innings, but fought back to win, 9-6 in 10 innings over Beloit College in Auburndale, FL.

Saint Vincent struggled against Buccaneer starter Grant Henricksen, as the team managed just four hits and were shut out through the first six innings.

Eric Reitz made his first career start for SVC, giving up a pair of runs, one unearned, in the first before settling down and retiring 8 straight at one point.  He suffered from control problems later, giving up four earned runs through 4.1 innings.

After 7 innings, Beloit led 6-0 and things looked bleak for the Bearcats.

With one out in the top of the 8th, pinch hitter Aaron Burger reached on an error to start a rally.  Matt Loftis then hit a fly to left that was lost in the sun, resulting in a single that moved Burger to second.  Brad Burkardt then doubled down the line in left, bringing home both runners, making it a 6-2 game.  Grant Krally then followed with a double that scored Burkardt, making it 6-3.

Chris Storm, who had pitched a scoreless seventh, then tossed another shutout inning in the 8th, and the Bearcats made the most of their final opportunity.

With one out, pinch hitter Gary Gerhardt hit a two-strike double down the left field line.  Burger then followed with an infield single that moved Gerhardt to third.  With two down, Burkardt singled to right, scoring Gerhardt to make it 6-4.  Krally then doubled to deep left field, clearing the bases and tying the game at 6-6.

Alex Kozusko, making his fourth appearance of the year, pitched a scoreless bottom of the 9th for SVC.

In the top of the 10th, Jordan Britcher singled with one out, then moved to second on a wild pitch.  Gerhardt then drew a walk, and with two down, Loftis doubled home Britcher and Gerhardt with what would prove to be the game-winning runs.  Burkardt then provided an insurance run with a single that scored Loftis and made it 9-6.

Kozusko (2-0) shut the door on the Buccaneers in the bottom of the 10th to secure his second victory of the week.

Tanner Master, Loftis, Burkardt, Krally and Britcher each had two hits for the Bearcats.

Saint Vincent (2-3) will face Clark University of Massachusetts on Friday morning at 9:15.  The game will air live on the SVC Sports Network.
