Matt Loftis hit his first career home run, and Saint Vincent took advantage of five errors, nine walks and five hit batsmen en route to a 13-3 victory over Westminster College at Bearcat Ballfield.

The hosts took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first without getting a hit, and Loftis added a solo home run in the second inning that made the score 4-0.  After three innings, the Bearcats led 7-0 with just two hits.

Meanwhile, Michael Patsch (3-2) performed well on the hill for the Bearcats, his second straight strong effort.  He worked the first seven innings, giving up two runs on eight hits, striking out two.  Luke Spisak gave up an unearned run in the 8th, and Steve Janik worked a scoreless 9th inning.

Loftis led the offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.  Ben Webb was 1-4 and scored three times.  Colin Laguzza was 1-2, walked twice, scored once and drove in two runs.

SVC is now 9-9 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while Westminster drops to 6-8.  The Bearcats' home doubleheader against Thomas More, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has already been postponed due to anticipated rain.  As of this writing, the games are scheduled for Wednesday at 1PM, but the day and/or time could change.  Watch the schedule page for updates.
