BOX SCOREAfter the Bearcats captured the first two games of the series, the Bethany Bison stormed back to take the third and final game by a score of 9-1 in a game held in West Virginia.
The hosts carried a 4-0 lead into the top of the 6th, when SVC got on the board courtesy of a
John Malone RBI double. Â
Aaron Burger, who had singled, scored on the play.
However, the Bison added five runs in the bottom of the 6th, and SVC was unable to recover.
Malone paced the offense by going 3-for-4, while Burger and
Chris Winkler added two hits each.
Michael Patsch (0-1) started and worked into the fifth, taking the loss. Â A pair of freshmen threw well in the late innings, with
Brian Shaffer working 1 1/3 scoreless innings, while
Dylan Stark pitched a scoreless 8th.
Saint Vincent is now 8-8 overall, 3-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Â Bethany improves to 5-11, 1-6 in the PAC.
