BOX SCORE
The Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats visited Latrobe and emerged with a 13-3 victory over the Bearcat baseball team in non-conference play.
SVC fell behind 2-0 in the second inning and never recovered. The lone Bearcat runs came in the seventh inning, when the team cut a 7-0 margin to 7-3, but that was as close as the team would get.
The high point of the game for SVC came when senior
Brad Burkardt singled in the 9th inning, for his 183rd career hit, tying the school's all-time mark. Two-time All-American Danny Consuegra had 183 hits from 2003-2006 for the Bearcats.
Max Henry (0-1) took the loss for Saint Vincent, working 4+ innings and giving up two earned runs. He was the first of 7 Bearcat pitchers on the day.
Matt Kochasic (2-1) went 5.1 innings for the Bobcats and earned the win, holding SVC to just two hits during his stint. SVC managed only six hits on the afternoon.
Burkardt (2-3, RBI) and
Vince Murphy (2-2, run scored) led the SVC offense.
AJ Kavinsky drew three walks on the day and drove in a run.
Saint Vincent is now 11-8 on the year, while UPG improves to 7-14.
