The Bearcats dropped to 8-2 but retained first place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference following a 4-2 loss on the road at Bethany College.

Saint Vincent started the game well, with AJ Kavinsky singling up the middle to lead off.  Kavinsky took second when the ball was misplayed in center.  With one out, Brad Burkardt singled to left, and the ball was again mishandled, allowing Kavinsky to score to make it 1-0.

The Bison manufactured a run in the bottom of the first, using an infield single, sacrifice, groundout and another single to tie the game, 1-1.

In the third, Burkardt doubled, then scored on an error to give the visiting Bearcats a 2-1 advantage, but the Bison tied the game in the fourth with a single, sacrifice and an RBI single.

The game remained tied, 2-2, until the seventh.  After a single and a wild pitch, an infield single put two runners on.  Two errors on the same play resulted in both runs scoring, and the Bearcats bats were silenced in the 8th and 9th, sealing the loss.

Gary Gerhardt went the distance and took the tough loss, walking none and striking out six while giving up two earned runs.  SVC had just five hits on the day, two by Burkardt.

Zak Koslowski worked seven strong innings for the Bison to earn the win, while Brad Kubis worked a scoreless ninth inning for the save.

SVC is now 12-10 overall, 8-2 in the PAC, while Bethany improves to 6-17, 4-12 in the conference.
