The Thomas More College Saints defeated the Bearcats by scores of 9-6 and 5-2 in Presidents' Athletic Conference baseball action in Kentucky.
SVC scored three times in the top of the second, using a pair of hits, a walk and two hit batsmen to take the early lead.
However, the hosts came back and scored four in the third, before the Bearcats came back with three more runs in the fourth.
Jordan Britcher's two-run double was one of four hits in the inning.
Once again, the Saints came right back, tallying four runs in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.
Chris Storm, the third of four SVC hurlers, took the loss, working 2/3 of an inning.
Brad Burkardt and
Andrew Kozusko each had a pair of hits.
In game two, the Saints scored twice in the first, but SVC managed to come back and tie the game.
Nolan Russell singled in the third and later scored on a double by
AJ Kavinsky to make it 2-1. Then in the fourth, Burkardt doubled to lead off, and was brought home later in the inning by a sacrifice fly off the bat of Britcher.
The Saints rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and added an insurance run in the fifth to secure the win.
Saint Vincent had just four hits off TMC's Tim Baldrick, who went the distance.
Joey Fearer worked into the sixth and took the loss on the hill for SVC (15-15)
The Bearcats drop to fourth place in the PAC with the doubleheader loss, now at 11-7. Thomas More is 14-6 in the conference. Weather permitting, the teams will wrap up their three-game series on Sunday.
