Steve Janik tossed a 2-hitter, and the Bearcats exploded for 17 runs, shutting out the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in game one of a twinbill in Latrobe.  W&J rebounded to win game two, 9-2.
In game one, Bearcat offense went to work quickly, as
Luke Fox led off the bottom of the first with a single up the middle.  After
Dylan Kugler bunted Fox to second,
John Malone was hit by a pitch and
Eddie Kilkeary walked to load the bases against W&J starter Trevor Kerr.
Ben Webb then doubled down the right field line to score what would prove to be the game-winning runs, but SVC was far from finished.  SVC later added two runs to make it 4-0 after an inning.
SVC then added six more runs in the third.  After loading the bases, a wild pitch to
Hunter Williams brought home a run, then Williams singled home SVC's sixth run of the game.
Joe Simsic followed with a two-run double that made it 8-0, and a RBI groundouts from
TJ Kuny and Fox increased the lead to 10 runs.
The Bearcats then scored 7 more runs in the bottom of the fifth, with Williams supplying a two-run single.
Janik took care of the rest, throwing just 70 pitches and going the distance to improve to 4-2 on the season.  Webb and Williams each had two hits and three RBI, while Simsic was 1-2 and drove home three runs.  Winkler was 2-4 and drove in two runs.
In the second game, W&J scored a pair of unearned runs off SVC starter
Dylan Pietrantoni in the third inning, then added a run in the 5th.  After loading the bases with no outs in the 6th, W&J chased Pietrantoni, eventually plating all three runs to take a 6-0 advantage.
SVC got a run back in the bottom of the 6th, when Kilkeary hit a solo home run over the left field fence, his 6th of the season.
Down 9-1 in the 7th, SVC loaded the bases with no outs, but only managed to push one run across the plate, falling 9-2.
Pietrantoni (1-6) took the loss, working 5+ innings.
Tyler Frankel pitched one scoreless inning in relief.  SVC had seven hits, two from
Brennan Hoffer.
The Bearcats return to action on Wednesday, April 15, hosting Pitt-Greensburg in a non-conference doubleheader at 1PM.
