Freshman
Bobby Finn crushed a two-run home run in the 10th inning to lift the Bearcats to a 5-3, comeback win over the Bethany Bison on the road in West Virginia.
The Bearcats jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Â
Luke Fox singled to lead off the game, then moved to second on a
Chris Winkler groundout. After
Ben Webb walked and
Greg Martin was hit by a pitch to load the bases,
Bobby Swartwout plated Fox with a groundout, but SVC was unable to add more runs.
SVC started
Dave Culeton kept the hosts off the board until the bottom of the third, when the Bison scored on back-to-back doubles to tie the game.

Bethany added single runs in the sixth and eighth innings, taking a 3-1 lead into the 9th.Â
With one out,
Dylan Kugler hit a pinch-hit single up the middle. An out later,
TJ Kuny kept the game alive by drawing a walk.Â
Brennan Hoffer then hit a grounder to second, but a throwing error allowed Kugler to score and moved Kuny to third. A passed ball then tied the game.

Culeton then yielded to Martin after tossing 8 innings and giving up just two runs.Â

In the top of the 10th, Winkler led off with a single, then moved up two bases on a sacrifice by Webb and a groundout by Martin. That set the stage for Finn, who hit his first collegiate home run to make it a 5-3 game.Â
Martin then shut down the Bison, striking out the side in the bottom of the 10th to pick up his second win of the season. Â Saint Vincent is now 5-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, 12-7 overall. Â The Bearcats will host Thiel College on Wednesday (April 6) at Bearcat Ballfield in a 2PM doubleheader.Â
